45 Upgrading the Public Space in Ein Kerem

Meeting point: the bus shelter at the intersection of HaMa’ayan St. and Ein Kerem Rd.

Architects: Ollech + Tol Architects, 2026

How do you upgrade the public space in a unique historical village without compromising its identity? During these tours with the architects Tami Ollech Lerer and Aviel Argaman, they will present the design concept underlying the public space renewal project in Ein Kerem. They will describe how they dealt with the limitations and the constraints considering the historical and material wealth that the site has to offer. The 45-minute tours will start with a review of the future plans for the area adjacent to Ein Kerem Road, continue from there along the upgraded HaMa’ayan Street for a view of the orchard, and then descend to the refurbished terraces. The tours will end in the middle section of HaMa’ayan Street.
