022 Jerusalem Campus for the Arts

A two-hour tour led by the architects Meira Kowalsky and Talma Weitzner, that will introduce participants to this new campus. The idea behind it was jointly conceived by the Jerusalem Municipality, the Jerusalem Development Authority through Eden – The Jerusalem Economic Development Company, and the Jerusalem Foundation. The result is a strategic compound located in downtown Jerusalem the that constitutes a vibrant cultural hub in the city.

The campus is home to four schools for the performing arts: the Nissan Nativ Acting Studio, the Sam Spiegel Film & Television School, the School of Visual Theater, and the Center for Middle Eastern Classical Music. The schools are separated from one another through courtyards that are open to the public and accessible from the adjacent streets. Additionally, a parking garage that can accommodate 415 vehicles was built beneath the compound.

Kowalsky and Weitzner, will talk about the architectural concept that connects the buildings, while explaining how the campus serves its objective: enriching the urban fabric and creating a mix of uses founded on academic and cultural institutions as an accelerator for urban renewal.
