On July 26, 1922, Winston Churchill, the then Secretary for the Colonies, was questioned in the British Parliament about the murderer of Miss Lomax – a British citizen whose body was found in a cistern in Jerusalem. Churchill, who was sure that the murderer had been executed in December 2021, was surprised to learn that the man was still alive. Why was Miss Lomax murdered in Jerusalem?
