64 The Iceland Ascent

Meeting Point: 13 Ishand St., Entrance to the playground

Meeting point: the ‘Iceland’ light rail stop on Henrietta Szold St.

Landscape design: AR(A) Landscape Architecture and Urban Design, 2026

How can you turn a topographical obstacle into an urban opportunity? A tour with the landscape architects Osnat Kaslassi Kotzer and Tova Dagan at a landscape project they designed. The aim is to create an access way between Iceland Street and Henrietta Szold Street and make the ‘Iceland’ light rail stop more accessible to the city’s residents and light rail passengers. This will be achieved, among other things, by installing an outdoor elevator. During the tour, the architects will explain the architectural, engineering-related, landscape-related and execution-related challenges they have dealt with.
