19 To Love to Death

These strolls around the Katamon neighborhood will be led by Itamar Farhi, who founded the Friday at Ten project and community. He is the former CEO of Shabati, a public service economist, the founder of the Storyteller Line, the producer of Jane’s Walk Jerusalem, and a guide of satirical tours. Farhi will talk about prominent buildings in Katamon, such as the stiebelach (small synagogues), the pillbox (a watchtower dating back to the British Mandate period), and the first home in the Rassco section of the neighborhood. All this will be told against the backdrop of the tragic love stories that transpired in these buildings, which had an impact on the neighborhood and on the city as a whole.

The two-hour tours will end at the San Simon Monastery in Katamon.
