50 A Hillock Village
A walking tour in the old Malha neighborhood, known for its picturesque lanes. It is the only hillock village of its kind that has been well preserved. The village was declared an archaeological tel by the Israel Antiquities Authority, and was designated a historical landmark even in the British Mandate period.
The silhouette of the village was also a source of inspiration for the architects who designed the Israel Museum in Jerusalem.
During this tour that will be led by Tzipi Ron – an environmental activist and Distinguished Citizen of Jerusalem – she will review the history of the village, which is built on an ancient mound mentioned several times in the Bible.
