An opportunity to tour one of the most luxurious hotels in the Holy City, whose façade of wide arches and stone-carved Arabesques have made it an architectural icon in Jerusalem. During the tours, participants will hear about the history of the building, which started out as an upscale Arab hotel (Palace Hotel). Following its closure in 1935, the building housed offices of the British Mandate government, and after that, offices of the Government of Israel. After being unoccupied for many years, its facades were restored and the building once again became a deluxe hotel, as originally intended. Led by members of the Waldorf Astoria staff, the tours will pass through the atrium, the rotunda and some of the common areas in the hotel, while pointing out their historical and architectural qualities.

The Thursday tours at 15:30 will be conducted in English.
