31 Custodia di Terrae Sanctae (Monastery of San Salvador)
Guided tours of this Old City compound that belongs to the Franciscan order of the Catholic Church. It includes a monastery that has been in operation since the 16th century, as well as a church built in 1880 in the Spanish baroque style and decorated with frescos and stained-glass windows. In addition, the tours will pass through the office area that illustrates how a 15th century building can change organically to meet the needs of its current users. Participants will also be shown the curia building, the inner courtyards, the monks’ dining room and the wine cellar, apart from enjoying a view of the Old City from the roof.
Two tours for 40 participants will be held concurrently.
