114 The Loop
An introduction to one of the largest transportation projects in Jerusalem – the Nahal Sorek 4-9 Parking Lot – whose construction is underway at the Golda/Yadin Interchange next to the Ramot neighborhood. This park and ride garage, which is being built on land confined within a loop, contains a 5½-story structure situated on a 35,000 m2 lot that will offer 936 parking spaces.
Because the parking garage is located on the network of roads leading to Jerusalem from the west and from the north, it will facilitate easy access and transfers to public transport and to the planned bicycle paths.
The tour at the project’s construction site will be led by the architect Nimrod Daniel Rosenfeld from Ari Cohen-Michael Wind Architects, who are in charge of designing the parking garage. After gathering at the on-site offices, tour participants will hear a lecture on the light rail, receive an explanation about the design of the parking garage, and have a view of the construction works.
Participation in the tour is contingent on wearing closed-back shoes, as well as a vest and hard hat that will be provided on the premises.
