80 The Art Shelter Gallery

Visits at the Art Shelter Gallery, which for 25 years has been operating out of a bomb shelter in the heart of the ultra-Orthodox- Mekor Baruch neighborhood – the first art gallery located in an ultra-Orthodox neighborhood. Opened by the late painter Ika Yisraeli, the gallery provided inspiration for the TV series Shtisel.

The hourlong sessions will be led by the gallery’s curator, Dr. Noa Lea Cohn. They will start next to the first ultra-Orthodox graffiti wall in the neighborhood (Grafidos), followed by a tour of the exhibition The Comics of Eli & Gold, The Pioneers of Ultra-Orthodox Comics.

Participants are requested to dress modestly.
