20 Art Beneath the Radar

Behind its suburban image, the Kiryat HaYovel neighborhood is actually home to dozens of groups of artists and is brimming with creative and community-related endeavors. These tours led by Mariana Kronenfeld, who is one of the artists who work in the neighborhood, are an opportunity to become acquainted with the surprising activities taking place in Kiryat HaYovel, whose iconic landmark is the Monster sculpture (created by Niki de St. Phalle).

Participants will visit Gallery Rashuta at Beit Giora, the “Mashu Mashu” studio for social theater, Warburg Field, which is a venue where outdoor performances are held, Amos Grundwag’s photography exhibition, and a ceiling exhibition at HaMiflezet – a utopian-communal pub. The tour will end at Nova J-M – the wall painting that commemorates the Nova festival victims from Kiryat Hayovel.

The tours are scheduled to last about two-and-a-half hours.

Participants are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes and a hat, and should bring water with them.
