109 The God of Small Details

Meeting point: New Gate, The Old City.

Tours that will trace details of the built culture heritage that comprise the space of one of the most unique urban spaces in the world: the Old City of Jerusalem and its alleyways.

The tours will focus on architectural elements that are characteristic of the Old City – hallmarks, decorations, morphology, proportions, and a wide variety of details. Participants will receive a special perspective on those elements, on their value and on their significance, both individually and collectively, and on the importance of preserving the place, the story and the community behind them.

The tours will be led by the architect Tzafi Shelef, the Director of the Jerusalem District of the Council for the Preservation of Israel Heritage Sites.
