What makes a building interesting and smart? How did the Museum’s designers deal with its construction challenges in the 1960s, and then adapt it to the programs offered there around 50 years later? These 60-minute tours, led by the architect Meira Kowalsky, will focus on the architecture of the largest and most important museum in Israel, which includes iconic buildings designed by a number of different architects.

Kowalsky will review the design of the Museum created by Al Mansfeld and Dora Gad, who laid the foundations for its modernist and modular character. She will also put a spotlight on its refurbishment and expansion in the early years of this millennium, whose aim was to reorganize its different wings.
