022 Issawiya 2030

Meeting place: the university parking lot on Mount Scopus, next to Avigdor HaMeiri Square

Architects: Ari Cohen Architects

A local zoning plan for the Issawiya neighborhood has been advanced by the Jerusalem Municipality since 2015. It aims to provide a comprehensive planning solution to the needs of the neighborhood’s residents, while taking into consideration its unique features and projected growth, coupled with an integrative understanding of its needs in terms of housing, public institutions, the environment, and physical and public infrastructure. This tour with the planners will start with a view of the neighborhood, during which participants will hear about the challenges the zoning plan confronts and their proposed solutions, which address both housing needs as well as supporting public infrastructure.
