43 Jabotinsky St., Talbieh

Van Leer campus and original building architects: Reznik Architects and Powsner Architects, the 1960’s; New construction design and Polonsky Academy architects: Chyutin Architects, 2014

A tour with the architect Jacques Dahan from Chyutin Architects – who designed the new construction at the Van Leer campus and were also the architects of the Polonsky Academy. For the Polonsky Academy and other groundbreaking projects, Chyutin Architects received a lifetime achievement award for excellence in architecture in 2018. The firm was also awarded the EMET prize for architecture in 2020.

The tour will start with a brief lecture about the project, which won an architecture competition in 2008.  During the 90-minute lecture and tour, Dahan will talk about the new construction design and the contemporary architectural style of the academy that incorporate cutting-edge building techniques, while blending in harmoniously with the existing group of buildings on the campus.

The lecture will be held in the Van Leer Auditorium at the entrance to the Institute.

  • Attending the lecture and participating in the tour is contingent on presenting a Green Pass.
