31 Behind the Scenes at Shaare Zedek Hospital
A rare opportunity to tour sections of the hospital that are normally not accessible to the public and become acquainted with the complex logistical systems in place at the medical center: the heating/cooling facility that regulates the hospital’s air conditioning and water systems, the central sterile supply department where sterilized instruments are processed for the 30,000 surgical procedures performed annually, the pharmacy storerooms and robot, the automated lab test system, the computerized control room that distributes electricity to all the units in the hospital, and the emergency preparedness system for dealing with unconventional terrorist attacks. The 90-minute tours will be led by Gadi Ilan, the director of the Logistics and Engineering Division, and a representative from the Public Affairs Department. They will begin with a presentation about the future development plans for the hospital.
* Free parking is available in the lot adjacent to the hospital, at the entrance in the direction of the Beitar Lot.
