012 The Franciscan Ad Cenaculum Monastery

The monastery was built in the 1930’s on land formerly occupied by the old Franciscan Order, from which they were expelled in the 16^th century. The small church in the compound, which is decorated with colorful windows and modern sculptures, faces the Room of the Last Supper. The recently renovated intimate garden offers a peaceful and green break from the hustle and bustle of Mount Zion. There is also a small modern chapel with stained glass windows at the bottom of the garden.
