012 The Franciscan Ad Cenaculum Monastery
The monastery was built in the 1930’s on land formerly occupied by the old Franciscan Order, from which they were expelled in the 16th century. The small church in the compound, which is decorated with colorful windows and modern sculptures, faces the Room of the Last Supper. The recently renovated intimate garden offers a peaceful and green break from the hustle and bustle of Mount Zion. There is also a small modern chapel with stained glass windows at the bottom of the garden.
