052 The Urban Forest in Jerusalem

Meeting place: the Rose Garden on the corner of Pinsker St. and Graetz St.

An urban forest is an internationally accepted term that refers to all the trees in a city, including the trees on the boulevards and streets and in parks and private gardens. Together, they constitute the urban forest. This two-hour tour with Yisrael Galon – the former National Forest Commissioner and Head of the Flowers and Flora Engineering Division at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, will deal with Jerusalem’s urban forest in the past, present and future and focus on the Talbieh neighborhood as a case study.
