043 Dr. Wallach and the Old Shaare Zedek Hospital

A chance to hear the story behind the first hospital in Jerusalem that was built outside the Old City walls. It will be told by Dr. Yosef Wallach, a descendant of the hospital’s founder, Dr. Moshe (Moritz) Wallach. During the 45-minute session, he will share some personal memories and family photographs.

The building, which until 1980 housed the hospital and after that the Israel Broadcasting Authority, is now home to the nonprofit organization “New Spirit Jerusalem.” An art exhibition, which is part of the Jerusalem Biennale, is currently on display in the compound.
