An apartment whose design process addressed questions relating to localness and a contemporary interpretation of tradition and the manner in which they can be conveyed in an apartment. This starting point is what guided XS (eXtra Small) Studio, which specializes in designing compact urban apartments, to the stage where decorative tiles were handmade, textiles were chosen and sewn in the Old City market, a quote from a poem by Yehuda Amichai – “Songs for a Woman” was pasted on a kitchen cabinet, and the large windows from both its exposures started bringing the green local landscape that characterizes the Beit HaKerem neighborhood into the apartment.
